How to Paint Misty Pine Forest Using Watercolors

Hey Everyone!!

In this mini step by step tutorial, you will learn how to paint Misty Pine Forest using Watercolors.

Here are the steps:

  1. Secure the edges of watercolor paper with a masking tape.

  2. Apply an even wash of water on the paper.

  3. When the water layer is still wet, add some random strokes of very light paint giving it a fell of sky and clouds as shown in the video.

  4. When the first layer is still wet but not too much, start painting pine trees with smaller brush. The color tone should be a little watery to get a feel that they are far behind.

  5. The trees far away look lighter and the trees which are closer should be darker.

  6. Then after the second layer is dry, start with another layer of trees with a little darker tone of paint.

  7. Repeat this process until you come further down to the bottom of the page.

  8. Remember, that the trees on the last layer should be the darkest.

  9. Paint tiny birds in the sky using curved V strokes.

  10. When the painting is completely dry, peel off the masking tape and your painting is ready.

Note: Please do not restrict yourself with any rules. Just go with the flow and enjoy the process.
